Gourmet Garden’s cardboard tube wrap mechanism was originally designed to enable a cost effective way of selling the product in the German and Spanish markets. As the main tube packaging is printed in English, this allowed us to easily translate, print and slip over the tubes for Germany and Spain and has since moved into other European markets.
We realised the tube wrap also had excellent promotional potential for the UK. With my design for the first of these, the 50p off voucher, I put forward a radically different magenta/cyan colour scheme from their usual branding which was accepted as a method for allowing the product to stand out from the other products in the chilled produce section.
